About Northern Carolina APA
League Operators Marty & Penny Lee
We came aboard in September of 2007, as new league operators for our local area after competing in the APA for over 3 years, We were driving 45 minutes to play in the leagues every Tuesday night, then i joined another team on thursday nights. after trying unsucessfuly to get several of my local pool playing buddies to join my team , this was largely due to the time they got out of work and could not make in time for the matches. I (Marty ) had been playing pool for many years and was improving my game to the point i was getting board playing the same people every weekend and was losing competition, so i went on line to see if i could find any sort of league. I come across the APA and joined within a few weeks after contatcing the league operator for that area. After the first night i was hooked i loved the difernt skill levels and how they could compete on a equal playing field determined by a handicap this brought on a whole differnt meaning to the game. No longer were the lower skilled players so easy to beat due to the race and ball in hand rule, and yes even the lucky shots counted what great compitition this brought about, and the number of people i met over those 3 years was amazing. This on top of a chance for Vegas. That is the reason we decided to get the APA in our area to give our local friends and pool players the same oppertunity.
